A gothic horror RPG set in a dying city beneath an eternal eclipse.
The sun has not risen over Vaelmoor in three hundred years. The city grew downward instead of upward — its streets carved deeper into the earth, its people learning to live by torch-light and gas-flame and the pale glow of the fissures above. Nobody alive remembers what ended the sun. The scholars have theories. The cults have answers. Neither agree.
You are a Warden — one of the last sanctioned investigators permitted to move freely between the city's strata. A series of disappearances has begun in the lower districts. People walk into the dark and do not return. The city's keepers want the matter buried. You are no longer certain it should be.
Umbra is a game about what lives in the spaces between things. Between light and dark. Between memory and history. Between the city that exists and the one it used to be.
Vaelmoor is a hand-crafted world of vertically stacked districts, each with its own history, economy, and way of surviving the dark. No two visits are quite the same.
Something in the eclipse responds to attention. The more you look into the dark, the more the dark considers you back.
Three centuries of buried history lie beneath Vaelmoor's streets. Uncover it piece by piece — or help bury it deeper. Both choices have consequences.
Every faction in Vaelmoor believes it is saving the city. You will have to decide who is right, knowing you may never find out if you were.
Be among the first to hear when Umbra enters early access. No noise. Just darkness, when it arrives.
